Kat attended Villa Maria School in grades 3 through 5, and then transferred to Scofield Magnet Middle School. She graduated from Curry College with her BA in Psychology, and then worked for about a year at the Boys and Girls Club of America.

She moved to Ireland, and currently lives in Limerick, where she works as a caregiver and art tutor. Kat is hoping to eventually obtain her Masters in Psychology. She volunteers with a group that works with mental health. She is currently waiting on her background check to go through so she can start volunteering with at risk young adults where she will be tutoring and working with teens who have learning difficulties.

One of her hobbies includes art, especially painting, which she finds to be a great outlet.

Kat wrote, “I learned a lot from Villa; one big lesson was that being different isn’t bad, it’s just different! Villa also gave me the insight as to how others work and struggle. I was given a unique perspective and understanding. That understanding still helps me to this day. Villa was my stepping stone emotionally and educationally. I definitely would not have made it this far without Villa’s help.

Attached is a photo of me when I did study abroad three years ago in Ireland. It’s what made me want to move. I fell in love with the culture. The second picture is a picture of me now with my friend, Tony.”
