Welcome
Villa Maria School is a place where learning is as unique as every child.
Villa Maria provides a highly individualized approach to education which focuses on skill remediation while utilizing a high-interest, hands-on curriculum. By partnering with our Integrated Services Team of speech and language, social/emotional, and occupational therapists, our faculty employ innovative instruction to remediate a range of language-based learning differences in each class throughout their day. In addition to academics, skills such as social pragmatics and executive functioning are explicitly taught through meta-cognitive, multi-sensory instruction while encouraging students to build independence, resilience, responsibility, self-awareness, and self-advocacy.
Villa provides a small, nurturing environment which is a safe place for students to learn, grow, and develop. Our seven acres of land in North Stamford, Connecticut provide an idyllic backdrop for learning and exploration. Founded in Fransiscan principles, our goal is for our students to become independent learners who are also compassionate global citizens. Our teachers, staff and students all use the word family to describe our community. We look forward to having you visit to experience this welcoming, supportive community first hand.
Our goal throughout the admissions process is to get to know your child and your family as a whole. Many of our students have struggled in traditional school settings and may not have been fully understood and accepted. We approach the admissions process thoughtfully and thoroughly to ensure a strong fit between the child and our program.
I look forward to hearing from you and learning more about your child soon.
