Staying true to our commitment to small class sizes, our high school averages a 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio. Students rotate between three classrooms, where each teacher specializes in two academic subjects. This structure gives students both consistency and variety while preparing them for the independence of post-secondary life. What truly sets our program apart is the integration of therapies and supports into the daily experience. Students benefit from speech therapy, counseling, occupational therapy, and SELL (social emotional language learning), all of which are woven directly into their education. These services build the skills students need not only for academic success but also for social and emotional growth.

Our Service Learning Program ensures that students apply what they’re learning in authentic, real-world settings. They volunteer with community organizations (such as food pantries and gift shops) where they practice vocational skills, executive functions, and social pragmatics. These experiences help them develop confidence and competence in job-related skills like stocking, customer service, and cash handling. Students in 9th and 10th grade are supported by a dedicated job coach who attends service learning sessions, provides guidance, and collects feedback from site partners. By 11th grade, students begin to focus on areas of personal interest, transitioning into internships for one full day each week.

Planning for life beyond Villa begins early. Starting in 10th grade, students and families work closely with a transition counselor who helps identify appropriate post-graduation programs, guides them through application processes, and determines eligibility for essential services. This individualized support ensures each student leaves Villa with a clear plan, practical skills, and the confidence to thrive in the next stage of their journey.
