At Villa Maria School, social emotional learning is woven into every aspect of the student experience. Through the CASEL 5 competencies, we help students develop the self-awareness, resilience, empathy, relationship skills, and decision-making abilities that enable them to thrive both in school and beyond. We believe students learn best when they feel emotionally safe, understood, connected, and supported. Our Social Emotional Language Learning (SELL) program helps students build emotional awareness, resilience, confidence, flexibility, and relationship skills within a nurturing and highly supportive environment.
social emotional learning

Students are guided in understanding emotions, navigating social situations, building friendships, and developing healthy communication strategies. For students with ADHD, dyslexia, autism spectrum profiles, executive functioning challenges, school related anxiety, or other language based learning differences, social-emotional support is often critical to both academic and personal success. Social Emotional Language Learning (SELL) is integrated throughout the school day through classroom interactions, clinician support, guided practice, collaborative activities, and individualized strategies tailored to each child’s developmental needs.

At Villa, we understand that every child’s emotional journey looks different. Our compassionate team works to create an environment where students feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow socially and emotionally at their own pace.
